Lighting The Way On Your Big Day
by Alex Trevino
Weddings are all about the details. From the venue to the flowers, the food to the music, there are so many aspects that make your wedding day unique. While all details are important, lighting can change everything at a wedding. Lighting sets the mood for your big day and can drastically change any space or venue. Whether it be simple, white Christmas lights or large, dramatic chandeliers, lights make all the difference. When considering which type of lighting to use at your wedding, think about your overall theme. Are you having a more relaxed, rustic wedding or are you going for a black tie affair? The possibilities for lighting are endless… Here are some tips for lighting up your ceremony and reception:

Backyard Wedding
Lanterns, white Christmas lights, mason jar candles and large light bulbs are all huge trends for more relaxed weddings. Think trees wrapped with white lights and lanterns hanging from the branches for an outdoor ceremony, and hanging light bulbs or mason jar candles around the tables at the reception.

Black Tie Wedding
Chandeliers, candelabras, large candles and impressive light backdrops are the perfect touch to a dramatic event. Think huge chandeliers and large candles surrounding the ceremony, and candelabras on the tables at the reception.

Beach Wedding
While the setting may not seem like the perfect place for added lighting, I still think lanterns and small, tea lights add to the ambiance. Metal lanterns can be placed around the aisle and tea lights can be placed on the simple tables, especially around sunset. Photo Credit: Intimate Weddings
